The Associate Degree in Software Engineering from Westwood College will enable graduates to work in the fascinating and dynamic world of software engineering. Courses in the Associate Degree in Software Engineering will include topics such software design and engineering, software testing and validation, and understanding various computer languages and operating platforms. Hands on use of actual software engineering programs and applications throughout the course will provide a strong foundation for students. Courses on UNIX commands and file edit processes, understanding of HTML or Hypertext markup language, writing and debugging programs, understand and write GUI (graphic user interface) programs as well as develop software programs that can be used across and within networks. These courses will be taught by allowing students to work with existing programs as well as writing and developing their own. Emphasis will be placed on communication and management skills as well as computer software technology.
