One of the largest programs of study at Norwich University is engineering. Taught through the David Crawford School of Engineering, the faculty members of these programs are true professionals in the various engineering fields. Almost eighty percent of the entire faculty hold doctorate degrees in their respective area of professional expertise. There are professionals teaching from civil, environmental, electrical, mechanical and computer engineering prospectives. Baccalaureate programs are taught on campus and the graduate level Master of Civil Engineering is taught in an online format. All courses focus on theoretical aspects of the various engineering areas as well as actual hands on and real world applications of the course information.

One of the many benefits of the Norwich University program in engineering is that it is based on a report by the American Society of Civil Engineers that outlined the necessary knowledge and skills that engineers entering the field would need to possess to be effective and skilled employees. Norwich has used this information for the basis of their programming goals and objectives, assuring students at both the Bachelor and Master level that they will have the skills needed for successful careers upon graduation. In addition the courses explore other aspects of working in the engineering field including basic and advanced project management, general business management and communication and team building skills and attitudes.
